We have a first look at the footage in the teaser trailer for Hammer Films’ latest supernatural entry, THE QUIET ONES. Coming from the company reinvigorated by the astounding success of James Watkins’ THE WOMEN IN BLACK, the story follows a theory “inspired by true-events” from a university professor that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy. Assembling a group of his trusted students and rogue scientists, they begin to perform a series of tests on a troubled young girl by pushing her to the edge of sanity. What follows, they were never prepared for!
The brilliant Jared Harris leads as the English professor desperate to prove his controversial methods can create a poltergeist. The film is set for UK cinemas from the 11th April 2014 and is directed by John Pogue. It co-stars Sam Claflin, Olivia Cooke, Erin Richards, Laurie Calvert and Rory Fleck-Byrne.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
