An awesome alternative US one-sheet and UK quad design have surfaced form Abdellatif Kechiche’s controversial Palme d’Or winning adaptation of the graphic-novel, BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR. The film charts the sexual awakening of the young teenager Adele (Adèle Exarchopoulos), as falls in love with the older and alluring Emma (Léa Seydoux). Their volatile, yet loving relationship spans several years and both actresses (along with the director) nabbed major gongs for their performances at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Acclaimed French filmmaker Abdellatif Kechiche’s latest, based on Julie Maroh’s graphic novel, was the sensation of this year’s Cannes Film Festival even before it was awarded the Palme d’Or. Adèle Exarchopoulos is a young woman whose longings and ecstasies and losses are charted across a span of several years. Léa Seydoux (Midnight in Paris) is the older woman who excites her desire and becomes the love of her life. Kechiche’s movie is, like the films of John Cassavetes, an epic of emotional transformation that pulses with gestures, embraces, furtive exchanges, and arias of joy and devastation. It is a profoundly moving hymn to both love and life.
BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR is out now in the US having been released on the 25th October and hits the UK from the 15th November.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
