They won’t let us forget that Halloween is well on its way, but if by some ghastly miracle you have, here’s another little reminder – a short film inspired by the lucid childhood dreams of fabled horror director Guillermo Del Toro. Now, as you might have guessed it’s pretty f*%$!* up! SHHH tells the story of a bullied young boy whose tortured imagination manifests in the form of a hair-hungry toilet monster. This creature bares strong resemblance to one seen in Del Toro’s PAN’S LABYRINTH. The director wasn’t involved in the project but he has said that the film has “strong visuals and solid atmosphere!” and he’s not wrong. It’s definitely a strong one amongst the zombie horde of shorts out to capitalise on the coming holiday. Check it out below.
SHHH has had a widely positive reception at festivals in the last two years and should definitely kick start the careers of directors Freddy Chávez Olmos & Shervin Shoghian.
