Great news from the small screen as Showtime have announced that Homeland WILL return for a fourth season, and the rather impressive Masters of Sex (starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan on Channel 4 in the UK) will also get to come back for a second outing.
It’s good news for anyone who likes either show and in this day and age, where programmes are ripped off the air before they’ve even begun, so it’s nice to know that you won’t have to lose it at the end of any current run.
Homeland in season 3 has returned to the slow-paced, intense nature of the first season and although it can come with people moaning, I don’t get the complaints. Sure, we’re in the early days but they’ve been exciting, horrific and downright miserable but I’m all for a whole load more of Claire Danes , Mandy Patinkin and whatever happens with Damian Lewis’s Brody – I guess only the writers can let us know, eventually.
Masters of Sex is also a well thought-out drama based around Sheen’s Bill Masters and his scientific tests over the sexual nature of our lives. What they’ve done well, so far, is make it understandable, relatable and quite impressively tantalising. We’ll now also get to see a whole lot more of the underrated Lizzy Caplan as his assistant and alongside Michael Sheen, we’ve got a lot of to look forward to.
