Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga star in AT MIDDLETON, which judging by its trailer is your run of the mill “inspirational” indie flick. Garcia and Farmiga star as two parents visiting a college open day with their kids. After the two are separated from the tour, they soon begin to discover things about themselves, and as the awfully predictable tagline goes ‘Sometimes you have to get lost…before you can find what’s missing!’ Both Garcia and Farmiga are brilliant actors, but the quirky sense of humour, life lessons, and even running through fountains of water, seem to add up to a film that is trying too darn hard. Hopefully the chemistry, which is certainly apparent between the leads, will be enough to break this film free from the pack.
AT MIDDLETON is released in select US theatres and On Demand on 31st January 2014. It stars Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga, Taissa Farmiga, Peter Riegart, Tom Skerritt, and Nicholas Braun.
