BBC America are upping their original series roster to two as it was revealed today that the company have ordered eight episodes of INTRUDERS, created by THE X-FILES and FINAL DESTINATION writer Glen Morgan.
The series, based on the 2007 novel THE INTRUDERS by Michael Marshall, tells the story of a secret society who chase immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others. Clearly they are staying with Sci-Fi theme following the success of ORPHAN BLACK.
The announcement of INTRUDERS comes just a month after the cancellation of COPPER, the channel’s first original scripted series, but it is rumoured that the cancelled show is likely to come back as a feature film.
Production for INTRUDERS is set to start in 2014, with BBC Worldwide Productions producing and Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner and Morgan executive producing. There is currently no cast set just yet.
