First Trailer For Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’

The first trailer has arrived for writer/director Wes Anderson’s latest quirky ensemble, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. The story takes place in early 20th-century Hungary and is led by Ralph Fiennes as a legendary concierge who takes a young employee (newcomer Tony Revolori) under his wing. It looks in keeping with Anderson’s style and Fiennes looks on fine comic form as he trains his trusted protégé in the art of keeping guests happy by any means possible.

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.  The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

The film also features an epic supporting cast of Saoirse Ronan, F. Murray Abraham, Edward Norton, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Lea Seydoux, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwarztman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson. It opens its doors 7th March 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
