‘The Pact 2’ Picked Up Plus First Still

I initially brushed off Nicholas McCarthy’s supernatural thriller THE PACT as another tiresome rerun of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, so decided to miss it off my cinematic list. It wasn’t until I reviewed it for our fine website that I realised it deserved better to be tarnished with such a shitty brush. Thanks in part to a superb final twist. McCarthy’s film is great addition to the genre and the surprising sleeper hit was soon given a green light for a sequel.

IFC Midnight has picked up the US theatrical rights to the upcoming THE PACT 2, just as they did with the original, which has this time been written and directed by Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath. The plot takes place only weeks after the first film and also features a number of the returning cast. We’ve added the first still from the sequel starring Camilla Luddington, Patrick Fischler, Scott Michael Foster, Haley Hudson, Mark Steger and Caity Lotz.

President of IFC Entertainment, Jonathan Sehring, commented:

We are so thrilled to be working with our friends at Preferred Film & TV and Content on the sequel to The Pact. It’s exciting to forge a continuing partnership with such a talented team.

Producer Ross Dinerstein added:

Dallas and Patrick did a tremendous job taking the world of ‘The Pact’ to the next level and we are thrilled that IFC Midnight is back to distribute. ‘The Pact 2’ will satisfy fans even more than the first one.

THE PACT 2 is executive produced by Content’s Jamie Carmichael and the original director McCarthy. It’s expected early next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
