Universal and Focus Features are going to have to move fast if they’re to make their August 2014 date for the much-anticaped adaptation of E.L. James’ infamous female wankfest FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Things have not helped by the news over the weekend that Charlie Hunnam has now departed the project. The studio are now drawing up a list of names to fill the cock-shaped hole left by the PACIFIC RIM star, while director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her Anastasia Steele, Dakota Johnson, remain committed.
Fans of the filthy novel series may still be a touched perturbed by the still missing Matt Bomer, but could they be persuaded by the likes of Alexander Skarsgard, Jamie Dornan, Theo James or Christian Cooke, as their Christian Grey? The hunky, billionaire bondage-loving bastard who’ll apparently stick it anywhere.
We’ve also news that former stand-up comedian-turned-Oscar-nominated CLOSER scribe and playwright (and more importantly for myself, the co-creator of Alan Partridge) Patrick Marber, has been brought on to polish the script by Kelly Marcel.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

Alex would be great, he’s so sexy! But honestly, I think he’s way above this movie. Definitely wouldn’t be a good career move for him.
