James Wan-Produced House Of Horror Pic Now Has An Official ‘Demonic’ Title

The James Wan-produced shocker formally titled HOUSE OF HORROR (see the early teaser poster below) has recently been test screening in Los Angeles. It’s directed by Will Canon with a script by Max La Bella after being based on an original idea of Wan. Early word from those events suggest the genre fright film, starring Frank Grillo and Maria Bello, will now go under the moniker of DEMONIC. Following Wan’s two huge horror hits released this year in THE CONJURING and INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, don’t be surprised to see this take another monster haul!

DEMONIC centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein, question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants, but with the house itself.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
