We have all seen the superb use of visuals in the many trailers for Alfonso Cuarón’s upcoming GRAVITY, but one of film’s unsung heroes is the ‘sound,’ which again is possibly one of the most important elements of any film, this one especially so. We’re all sure that the technical teams behind the film will be in line at the Dolby theatre in Hollywood come next year to collect a little golden statue, even though we’re still to see the film ourselves (unlike our American friends who have lit up the box-office cash desks to the tune of $55 million this weekend).
Take a look at this nine-minute featurette from Soundworks and Dolby about the sound used in the George Clooney and Sandra Bullock led space drama.
“In this exclusive SoundWorks Collection profile we talk with Director Alfonso Cuarón and Re-recording Mixer Skip Lievsay about the sound teams work to create a dramatic sound scape to a dark and vast outer space environment.”
This is superb.
GRAVITY is now on general release in the U.S. and will be released in the UK on the 8th November.
