It would be very easy to call Quentin Tarantino one of the greatest directors of our time. The Academy Award-winning film maker behind RESERVOIR DOGS, PULP FICTION and DJANGO UNCHAINED has shown countless times that his skills for storytelling and directing will go down in history.
With this in mind it’s interesting to hear which films released this year have made Tarantino’s Top 10 list. Although it’s always fascinating to get inside the mind of a great director, Tarantino is one of the most intriguing due to his varied tastes in film, as he tends to enjoy a wide range that not many people in the industry would appreciate. His previous selections in past years have included films such as Paul W.S. Anderson’s THE THREE MUSKETEERS and JACKASS 3D, therefore showing Tarantino’s appreciation for a wide spectrum that may be ignored by critics and other individuals.

This list is refreshingly diverse with a great mixture of indie dramas, comedies and Hollywood blockbusters. It’s surprising to see that no large productions such as IRON MAN 3, MAN OF STEEL, WORLD WAR Z or PACIFIC RIM made the cut but perhaps even more surprising to see THE LONE RANGER and KICK ASS 2 listed.
Although I was a huge fan of KICK ASS 2, fans and critics were incredibly divided on the film and THE LONE RANGER was such a critical and commercial failure it was predicted to lose Disney almost $200 million.
