I’m currently four episodes in to A&E’s mysterious and contemporary prequel series based on Hitchcock’s classic slasher PSYCHO, and while I’m enjoying it so far, it’s not at all how I’d expected it to be (for the better I believe). The first season, which I feel has an echo of Twin Peaks about it, has already aired in the US and the evolution of the disturbed mind of seriel-killer Norman Bates will continue in Bates Motel season 2.
Freddie Highmore returns as the notorious cross-dressing psychopath with an obsession for mummy and here, he’s hard at (twisted) work building up to the brand new second season, which arrives in the US early next year!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
