Foreboding New Images For Kimberly Pierce’s ‘Carrie’ Remake

We’d all love to believe bullies get what they deserve. Perhaps more than any other horror creation we’ve rooted for over the years, Carrie White was always up there as giving her tormentors their just deserts. Well, we can see it all played out again with Sony and Screen Gems’ contemporary re-imagaining of Stephen King’s iconic supernatural novel, CARRIE. BOYS DON’T CRY’s Kimberly Pierce was an inspired choice for the remake of Brian DePalma’s 1976 genre classic with Chloe Grace Moretz taking on the tragic role previously portrayed by an Oscar-nominated Sissy Spacek.

We’ve another huge collection of images from the film which we recently discovered was screen testing five alternative endings and co-stars Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort and Julianne Moore.

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother , who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine, is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter, Carrie. Carrie is a sweetbut meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
