Marko Manev’s Beautiful ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ Posters Revealed

Artist Marko Manev’s beautiful THE LORD OF THE RINGS triptych (a piece of art divided into three) is to go on sale today. Intended to feature in the Young Guns of Print show at the Hero Complex Gallery in LA, the art wasn’t ready for the start of the show and is now being revealed with its closing.

The three sections of the triptych are each dedicated to one of the three movies in the trilogy. The first shows the fellowship with the backdrop of the Shire, the second depicts Frodo, Sam and Gollum with the towers of Orthanc and Barad-dûr in the background and the third has Aragorn and his army at the Black Gate of Mordor. The artwork is wonderful and definitely some of the best I have seen of the franchise, but it doesn’t end there. Hidden behind each image is a glow-in-the-dark layer that reveals itself when the lights are turned off. With the main images depicting the story’s heroes, it is only natural that these hidden ones show the villains. The FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING print features the cloaked Nazgûl, the TWO TOWERS print has the evil Sauron and the RETURN OF THE KING print is the territory of the ridiculously-large-mace-wielding Witch King.

The prints will be available for purchase from today on the gallery’s official website. Each section measures 12″ by 24″ and is a 5 colour screenprint with a glow-in-the-dark layer. The set will cost $100.
