It’s going well for the DreamWorks Animation film HOME. The first excellent decision made about the movie was to call it HOME and not HAPPY SMEKDAY!, because, let’s face it, who would go to a film called HAPPY SMEKDAY!?
Secondly, Jim Parsons, our very own Sheldon Cooper from THE BIG BANG THEORY, joined the film, along with pop diva Rihanna, and now Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez are confirmed as the newest cast members.
HOME is an adaptation of Adam Rex’s book ‘The True Meaning of Smekday’, which tells the story of a friendly alien race that efficiently reorganizes Earth. Sounds like a bit of a relief to be honest… However, one young girl, voiced by Rihanna, escapes their mightily efficient clutches and teams up with a banished alien named Oh (Parsons). Basically, it’s Penny and Sheldon in cartoon form, in space. The two take a roadtrip where they meet the brave Captain Smek, voiced by Steve Martin, and bump into the girl’s mother, voiced by Jennifer Lopez.
HOME is slated for a November 2014 release date.
