Paul Giamatti Will Return For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ As Writers Are Confirmed

It’s not even close to a hitting cinemas but Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is beginning to build momentum for its release next year. Sony’s signature superhero will return with Andrew Garfield once again spinning those webs as Peter Parker and the sequel is expected to mark the introduction of villainous team of the Sinister Six. We already know Jamie Foxx is the main antagonist Max ‘Electro’ Dillon but with the likes of Norman Osbourne (Chris Cooper), Harry Osborne (Dane DeHaan), The Black Cat (Felicity Jones), The Vulture (Colm Feore) and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino featuring somewhere in the plot, things are looking busy for the friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler!

Plans have already been announced for third and fourth feature films but the trio of Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner have now been confirmed as the writers of part 3. Now, in a recent interview, Giamatti, who will be playing the Russian mobster-turned-thunderously-horned psychopath Aleksei Sytsevich, has also confirmed that his character will return for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 but is unsure about the fourth film.

Check out the interview below which Giamatti conducted during the promotion of JFK assassination drama, PARKLAND.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will swing into cinemas from the 2 May 2014. It co-stars Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka, Marton Csokas and Sarah Gadon.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
