One of the slowest burning television shows of 2013 was the Hannibal Lecter spin-off Hannibal, a perfectly crafted effort from Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies), that was loosely based around the events of Red Dragon, the source novel by Thomas Harris. Hannibal has already been confirmed to be returning to NBC in the US, and Sky Atlantic in the UK early next year, but Fuller is already pushing the promo button and has released a teaser poster through Entertainment Weekly.
The poster, which although simplistic, really does tell us a lot if you’re up to speed with the events of the last season. Fuller decribes it to EW.
“After a horrifying descent into madness in season one, this image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season two. The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is.”
This is clearly evident in the image, showing off Mads Mikkelsen as the title character looking definitely monstrous. Hugh Dancy returns in the new season too, repriising his role as Will Graham, as does Lawrence Fishburne who is excellent as Jack Crawford.
Here’s the image.
