With the biblical epic currently finding a new lease of life thanks to in-development projects like Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH and Ridley Scott’s EXODUS, director Kevin Reynolds is eyeing his very own! Mel Gibson’s THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST proved there are mega-bucks to be made from the tortured tales of the ‘good book’. Now, the filmmaker best known for enjoyable blockbusting guilty pleasures WATERWORLD and ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES will bring us RESURRECTION – the story of Jesus Christ’s rise from the dead and one that’s expected to undergo a more ‘action orientated’ journey.
Most recently, Reynolds reunited with long-time pal and collaborator Kevin Costner on the epic, all-star duelling drama series HATFIELDS & McCOYS. So, with the iconic actor currently undergoing a ‘resurrection’ of his own with roles in MAN OF STEEL, JACK RYAN: SHADOW ONE and THREE DAYS TO KILL, don’t be surprised to see Costner included somewhere in the cast.
RESURRECTION is expected to shoot early next year for a planned release on the Easter weekend of 2015.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
