Based on the graphic novel of the same name, I, FRANKENSTEIN sees a pumped up Aaron Eckhart playing Frankenstein’s monster 200 years after his initial creation. Now living in the present day, Adam (because all monsters deserve a name) is now tracked down by demons. It’s an obvious action twist on the familiar story, and although it sounds similar to something like VAN HELSING, at least it looks a lot darker and less campy.
The image doesn’t give a lot away, but it is also being suggested that we can expect a trailer later this this week. I’m not against revisionist works, but I’m still not convinced that this will be anything more than a simple popcorn film.
I, FRANKENSTEIN is released on 24th January 2014. It stars Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, and Caitlin Stasey.
