Four new images have been released from upcoming Tom Hanks film SAVING MR. BANKS, in which the actor plays the legendary filmmaker Walt Disney. Directed by John Lee Hancock (THE BLIND SIDE), the film follow’s Disney’s pursuit of the rights to film an adaptation of ‘Mary Poppins’ from the novel’s author P.L. Travers, portrayed by Emma Thompson. The first trailer, which you can see below the images, features brilliant performances by both Hanks and Thompson and some are already predicting Oscar nominations.
Obviously it’s too early to say, but the film does indeed look very promising. Check out the images and trailer and let us know what you think!
SAVING MR. BANKS also stars Jason Scwarzman and B.J. Novak (pictured at the piano above) as MARY POPPINS composers Richard and Robert Sherman, alongside Paul Giamatti (IRONCLAD), Bradley Whitford (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS) and Ruth Wilson (THE LONE RANGER). It premieres at the AFI Festival in November and arrives in cinemas on 20th December.

I hope in nomination for Thompson, my favourite actress, and Hanks. I predict these nominations for Saving Mr Banks: best picture, actress in a leading role (Emma Thompson), actor in a supporting role (Tom Hanks), original screenplay, art direction, costume design and original score. In my opinion, Thomas Newman wins Oscar after eleven nominations but no victory so far.
