Aaron Sorkin To Decide On Return For ‘The Newsroom’ Season 3

The NewsroomWe’re only halfway through Season 2 in the UK for Sorkin’s tremendous HBO series ‘The Newsroom‘ and although they’ve now got the go-ahead for Season 3, creator Aaron Sorkin is still to let us all know whether he’ll return along with it.

If you like your drama intelligent, funny, snappy and insightful then you’ll love The Newsroom. It’s taken the basic principle of a News agency (ACN) but they want to tell the stories of the day in a balanced, clever way and – quiet frankly – in a manner that’s deeply refreshing despite the fact the series has the benefit of hindsight.

I’m hoping that Sorkin has been turned slightly by the brilliant news after Jeff Daniels just won an Emmy for his role as grumpy, yet highly informed Will McAvoy, the lead anchor for their show. But so far, it’s definitely in the balance and Indiewire spoke to the main man at the HBO Emmy after-party to simply say:

I need time to think about it.

Now that’s fair enough because it’s different to The West Wing where other people can come in and out, but Sorkin has done the big research on The Newsroom but, whatever happens, we do hope he decides to continue!
