Fans of director Duncan Jones’ intelligent sci-fi thrillers MOON and SOURCE CODE will be eager to see how handles a monster budget. His next big-screen outing is indeed just that as he’s tasked with helming Blizzard Entertainment’s “massively multiplayer online role-playing game” The World Of Warcraft, expected to be simply titled WARCRAFT.
After a surprise appearance during San Diego Comic Con in July – giving us a look at the intense and action-packed teaser – we’ve been left wondering who could be in line for the lead roles in the film being financed by Legendary Pictures and distributed by their new parters Universal? Well, we can now give you details of two actors currently in talks.
Paula Patton (2 GUNS) is said to be close to being confirmed as the female lead and is in final negotiations, while Irishman Colin Farrell is currently mulling over an offer from the studio.
BLOOD DIAMOND’s Charles Leavitt has penned the screenplay which being kept tightly under wraps. However, given the the usual elements found in the cult game, expect familiar tropes of wizards, witches, dungeons and dragons.
