Karen Gillan is certainly not stopping after leaving Doctor Who with her picking up a role in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and now the announcement of this Scottish indie rom-com NOT ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING out on October 11th.
I think it’s always a good thing when upcoming talent sticks to a few indie projects, so she’s stayed close to home for the film that tells the story of a young writer who, following the success of her debut novel has a severe case of writers block and here’s some official news:
When struggling, maverick publisher Tomas Duval (Stanley Weber) discovers his only successful author Jane Lockhart (Karen Gillan) is blocked he knows he has to unblock her or he’s finished – with her newfound success, she’s become too damn happy and she can’t write when she’s happy. The only trouble is, the worse he makes her feel, the more he realises he is in love with her…
Starring opposite Karen as leading man is Stanley Weber (THERESE) alongside Amy Manson (Being Human), Iain de Caestecker (HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER), Kate Dickie (PROMETHEUS), Freya Mavor (THE WHITE QUEEN), Gary Lewis and Henry Ian Cusick (Lost), with it being directed by John McKay (CRUSH), produced by Claire Mundell of Synchronicity Films, co-produced by Wendy Griffin (Wasted) and written by David Solomons (Five Children and It).
NOT ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING will be released in cinemas on 11 October via Kaleidoscope Entertainment.
