A Dapper Henry Cavill Goes Solo In First Look At ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’

The first set images from director Guy Richie’s reboot of cult series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. have surfaced as shooting on the 1960s period-set action-adventure is now underway. The film stars MAN OF STEEL’s Superman Henry Cavill in the lead role of Napoleon Solo (previously played by Hollywood legend Robert Vaughn), alongside THE LONE RANGER’s Armie Hammer as his Russian sidekick Illya Kuryakin (originally taken by David McCallum).

Warner Bros. are hoping to begin a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE-style franchise set in the international organisation of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement as they aim to put a stop to shady operatives of T.H.R.U.S.H. (Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity).

Check out the first look at Cavill’s heroic character.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
