Another Doctor To Appear In The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special?

Doctor Who Day Of The Doctor

With only two months to go now until the 50th Anniversary special of DOCTOR WHO titled ‘Day Of The Doctor‘ airs, the excitement and anticipation for the television event has never been higher.

The special 75 minute episode to air on 23rd November will star Matt Smith and Jenna Louise Coleman as well as special guest stars David Tennant, Billie Piper and John Hurt. Of course the most frequently asked question by fans has always been how many past Doctor’s will return?. Many fans were also disappointed when it was revealed that Tennant will be the only past Doctor making a comeback with actors of the classic era apparently being snubbed.

Well now fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison has dropped some hints that he may reprise his role in the hotly anticipated special or at least somewhere before the end of the year. Here is what the actor said in interview on Daybreak when quizzed about a possible return:

‘I’ve heard lots of rumours, none of which I’m allowed to tell you anything about. I’m privy to them actually’.

‘I have got a copy of the script which has got my name embossed across it. So it’s top secret, but there’s other stuff, lots of other things that are going on that people should keep their eye open for around the 50th anniversary special!’.

Of course this does beg the question, why does he have a copy of the script?. Davison was also interviewed by Bang Showbiz later where he revealed he will definitely be making some sort of appearance:

‘I’m making an appearance somewhere over that period of time but I can’t reveal in what.’

‘I can’t reveal anything specific about it. I’m not allowed to. It is a big year for the show and we’re all doing our bit for it. Trust me.’

We will have to wait and see whether or not Davison will be in the 50th Anniversary episode itself or another special programme related to the event. Davison is still probably the most likely out of the classic Doctor’s to appear however, after he starred in 2007’s ‘Time Crash’ mini special alongside David Tennant which was written by Steven Moffat.

We’ll update you with any more news relating to the 50th Anniversary of DOCTOR WHO.
