We can look forward to another twisted take on a tortured soul as TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh has his controversial novel FILTH brought to the big-screen by CASS writer/director Jon S. Baird. The ever-excellent James McAvoy stars as the self destructive detective Bruce Robertson. A top law-enforcement officer on a demented, downward spiral and who believes the the best way to win back his wife and family is to manipulate, snort and shag his way through the nearing festive season.
We’ve another dark and hilarious clip from the film co-starring Shirley Henderson, Imogen Poots, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Martin Compston, Joanne Froggett and Pollyanna McIntosh.
FILTH is expected in Scottish cinemas from 27th September and the remainder of the UK 4th October. No details as yet on a US date.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
