Only days ago did we bring you the first creepy trailer for the Liev Schreiber-led intense sci-fi thriller THE LAST DAYS OF MARS, which previously went by the title of THE ANIMATORS. Today we bring you the new atmospheric first poster from the film directed by Ruairi Robinson. It impressed many at its premiere at this years Cannes Film Festival with a plot centring on an astronaut crew who’ve arrived on the Red Planet and uncovered a major breakthrough in a collection of rock specimens with evidence of life. That excitement soon turns to terror as their final days of fraught with a fight for survival.
An impressive supporting cast includes Olivia Williams, Romola Garai, Tom Cullen, Goran Kostic, Johnny Harris and the ever-exellent Elias Koteas, with THE LAST DAYS ON MARS is expected to scare UK cinema-goers from the 19th September. No word yet on a US release.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
