Director Stuart Beattie’s long-delayed adaptation of Kevin Grevioux’s cult and acclaimed graphic novel, I, FRANKENSTEIN is now confirmed to receive the IMAX treatment for the film’s release in January. The gothic action-thriller sees the Mary Shelley-created oddity, Adam Frankenstein (played by Aaron Eckhart), having survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his electrifying creation. Making his way through a dark, run down metropolis, Adam finds himself caught in a centuries old war between two immortal clans.
After catching the first trailer at San Diego Comic Con, the film certainly holds promise. The press release below confirms fans will now be able to witness the spectacular action and creature-filled carnage in the glorious, increasingly popular format.

The IMAX release of I, Frankenstein will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
200 years after his shocking creation, Dr. Frankenstein’s creature, Adam (Eckhart), still walks the earth. But when he finds himself in the middle of a war over the fate of humanity, Adam discovers he holds the key that could destroy humankind.
