Millennium Falcon To Fly Again In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’

Millennium Falcon

While breaking news surrounding Disney’s new STAR WARS trilogy seems to be a little sparse, we’re hearing plenty of rumours trickling in (as was always going to be the case, really) – from supposed titles to purported links with seemingly every single A-List actor in Hollywood right now.

Continuing that trend, rumours have emerged over at Latino Review that the J.J. Abrams-directed EPISODE VII will reportedly see the return of Han Solo’s famous freighter, the Millennium Falcon, with the interior of the craft being built over at Pinewood Studios. If this is true, one can only assume that the return of Harrison Ford is indeed confirmed, presumably alongside Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. While the Falcon’s appearance is hardly surprising, given the strong rumours of the original cast’s return to the franchise, and Abrams’ apparent keenness to create links between the revered original trilogy of films and EPISODE VII-IX, it’s still incredibly welcome.

A report from Talkbacker also indicated the Falcon’s return, claiming it will make a ‘big appearance’ in the new films. And not only that, but we may also be revisiting another landmark STAR WARS location in 2015 – that of Mos Eisley Cantina, original meeting point of our heroes in STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE.

This again makes sense, as it would mean a return to Tatooine – the desert planet which played such a huge role in both STAR WARS trilogies. And of course, who doesn’t want to hear the legendary Bith in action once again (the cantina band, if you’re not as nerdy about this stuff as me)?

Let us know your thoughts on the Falcon’s return in the comments below – are you happy to see it back? There’s always the worry that Disney will CGI-ify the ship’s interior and completely ruin the weathered, loved and lived-in effect of the original trilogy’s sets, though surely Abrams won’t make the same mistakes as old George and his prequels.

…right?

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and is due for release in 2015.

I think it would great to Have Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher and any othe characters they could get back from the iorignal Stars Wars. Also I thing it would be great to bring back The Millennium Falcon back and all other vechile they used in the old Stars WarsIV. in 2015. This is the Star War Movies I watch when I was younger and I enjoyed them the best . I like them better than the new ones. Because when you showed the new one I couldn’t understand what was going on. The new ones should of been made first. Then the old ones. Then I would iof understand what was going on. When I watched the new one’s I was lost till I found out who the characters were then I knew what was going on. Then when I got done watching these. I watch all the old ones and the I understood the whole story of Stars Wars. I am very excited to see the new Star Wars because it is going to be more like the old ones I watch when I was younger. Can’t wait till 2015 to see it. A Good Fan Of Stars Wars. Sharon
