I was surprised to see the cult gem MR NOBODY resurfacing on film news sites today, before I realised that it never had an official US release. The 2009 film has been gradually released around the world over the course of the last 4 years. It was released on DVD here in the UK 2 years ago, but better late than never as I always say. Set in 2092, the oldest man in the world settles down to tell a reporter about the three loves of his life. However, his stories soon contradict each other. Jared Leto plays the 118 year old man, Nemo, in what is a stirring performance. MR NOBODY has gained quite the following, and it is a mixture of beautiful emotional moments and trippy narrative jumps. I can assure anyone yet to see the film that it is indeed brilliant and well worth a look.
MR NOBODY is to be released in the US on iTunes and On Demand from 26th September and a limited theatrical run from 1st November. It stars Jared Leto, Sarah Polley, Diane Kruger, Linh-Dan Pham, Rhys Ifans, Natasha Little, Toby Regbo and Juno Temple.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
