I bloomin’ love Christmas, especially Christmas films. They are just so bright and tacky, but always manage to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. However, ALL IS BRIGHT may take a bleaker look at the holiday season, but it’s also the hardest I’ve ever laughed at a trailer (no hyperbole required). Following Paul Giamatti as an ex-con trying to go straight, he teams up with ex-partner in crime Paul Rudd in an attempt to sell Christmas trees in New York.
ALL IS BRIGHT seems devoid of any saccharine nonsense, but still manages to squeeze my Grinch sized heart. Coming from director of the indie gem JUNEBUG, Phil Morrison, ALL IS BRIGHT is filled with witty one-liners. It’s a different kind of Christmas and one that I will be snuggling up with come November/December.
ALL IS BRIGHT is released On Demand on 10th September, with a limited US cinema release come 4th October.
