It has surely got to be a move to appease fans following this weeks revelation that director George Miller was bringing back the principle cast for three weeks of additional filming on his MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. This after almost a year after the shooting was complete, we have the official first still of Tom Hardy as the post-acopalyptic Road Warrior, Max Rocktansky.
Hardy takes on the iconic role previously played by Mel Gibson in the original classic trilogy. However, those fans may feel cheated as it’s the same blurry image that a crew member leaked after having the actor sign his signature, albeit a better quality still. I’m a huge fan of Miller’s three classic actioners, particularly the sequel THE ROAD WARRIOR (a genre masterpiece in my eyes), so I’m still eager to see this new take and Hardy rarely disappoints!
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will co-star Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
