Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming film – his first since 2006’s excellent dystopian drama CHILDREN OF MEN – has received glowing praise from perhaps the most esteemed man in the entire biz. James Cameron managed to wrangle himself an early viewing of GRAVITY, a techno-thriller starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as astronauts adrift in space after a catastrophic accident, and he has great words:
“I was stunned, absolutely floored. I think it’s the best space photography ever done, I think it’s the best space film ever done, and it’s the movie I’ve been hungry to see for an awful long time.”
When the man who unleashed THE TERMINATOR on the world – a franchise that arguably created the modern sci-fi genre in film – gifts your vision with such praise, you can be sure it won’t be taken lightly. The fact that Cameron’s films are as ambitious and high-concept as GRAVITY, and that the two top-grossing films of all time are his own (TITANIC and AVATAR), it shows he knows what he’s talking about. We here at THN take him on his word and, well, it makes us infinitely more excited for what is sure to be a wildly terrifying and agoraphobic ride.
Expect to see Alfonso Cuaron’s GRAVITY orbiting November 8th.
