Born of a fake trailer included in between Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s experimental, exploitation misfire GRINDHOUSE (split in certain territories as the duo PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF), Danny Trejo’s ex-Federale antihero Machete Cortez is back in action-sequel MACHETE KILLS. Only this morning did we bring you a set of new stills and international posters and now we’ve another crazy television spot.
The lady-loving Mexican mercenary is called on by the President of the United States (played by Charlie Sheen) to foil the devious plot of Mel Gibson’s billionaire arms dealer intent on spreading war across the globe.
MACHETE KILLS co-stars Sofia Vergara, Alexa Vega, Elle LaMont, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, Zoe Saldana, Edward James Olmos, Elise Avellan, Electra Avellan, William Sadler, Lady Gaga, Vanessa Hudgens, Antonio Banderas and Marko Zaror. It’s released in cinemas from the 11th October.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
