We do love a good throwback to the action-packed days of the 1980s, when Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were the kings of corny chaos. The trailer we got from Summit Entertainment’s ESCAPE PLAN (formally THE TOMB), suggested we’ll get just that as the duo reunite for Mikael Håfström’s action-thriller.
The film sees Stallone as structural security specialist Ray Breslin (making a living breaking out of maximum security prisons) framed and incarcerated in one of the very jail systems his skills help design. With little chance of finding the underground futuristic prison’s weakness, he’s forced to team-up with ruthless fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer in an effort break out and find those responsible.
Check out his impressive poster from the film co-starring Jim Caviezel, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan. ESCAPE PLAN is set for UK cinemas on the 27th September and the US 18th October.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
