A More Likely ‘Transformers 4’ Title Surfaces!

Over the weekend news broke of possible titles for Michael Bay’s currently-shooting TRANSFORMERS 4, after a number of website domains were registered by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro. This sci-fi action sequel sees the explosive director swiftly reunited with PAIN & GAIN lead Mark Wahlberg and with Shia Laboeuf gone, the franchise is expected to undergo an overhaul of sorts with the Autobots due to battle with the Dinobots. The three possible generic titles included TRANSFORMERS: LAST STAND, TRANSFORMERS: APOCALYPSE and TRANSFORMERS: FUTURE CAST.

However, another website domain and several trademarks has just been applied and registered for TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION. Given the new prehistoric-inspired creation making their big-screen debut, not forgetting the obvious threat and destruction expected on the planet (and our eardrums),  this appears to be the most likely contender for the sub-title of Bay’s next big-budget blockbuster.

TRANSFORMERS 4: WHATEVER IT’S CALLED will co-star Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng and Titus Welliver. It’s slated for cinemas 27th June 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
