The pyrotechnic perfectionist Michael Bay knows how to wow a cinematic audience (as well as induce migraines). His popcorn porn persona may not sit well with most critics but who cares when he pulls in the punters. With his passion project PAIN & GAIN now out of the way, Bay is currently back on big-budget blockbuster duty and shooting the fourth in his TRANSFORMERS franchise. I’ve a soft spot for the ridiculous first film but both REVENGE OF THE FALLEN and DARK OF THE MOON, I found spectacularly dumb and pointlessly complex. It’s based of a toy for christ sake Michael!
Bay has somehow conned his PAIN & GAIN lead Mark Wahlberg into the alien robot sequel, which has yet to receive an official sub-title as those aforementioned entries. However, that maybe about to change as website domains have been registered by Paramount Pictures. These titles of course could be to throw off fans or be part of a possible video game spin-off but we’re pretty sure one of the following will be used for the film.
TRANSFORMERS: LAST STAND (maybe a little too similar to Brett Ratner’s much-maligned third X-MEN effort, not forgetting the recent Schwarzenegger flop)
TRANSFORMERS: FUTURE CAST (again that is far too close to Bryan Singer’s forthcoming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST)
TRANSFORMERS: APOCALYPSE (I think this is the most likely considering the damage already seen in set pics and videos)
***UPDATE*** We’ve just received news of a more likely title after Paramount Pictures and Hasbro register another domain> HERE
TRANSFORMERS 4 is slated for the 27th June 2014 and will co-star Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng and Titus Welliver. We’ll bring confirmation as it’s released

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
