This December we return to Middle-earth, to the land where the One Ring rules them all! Peter Jackson brings us his follow-up vision of J.R.R Tolkein’s iconic fantasy novel THE HOBBIT, centring on hairy-footed hero Bilbo Baggins’ journey in attempting to aide a band of Dwarf warriors in reclaiming their lost Kingdom of Erebor from fire-breathing dragon, Smaug.
Martin Freeman is back as the earlier version of the titular adventurer, who, along with Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and the fearless collection of short soldiers led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), continue their quest that began last year.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG is released on the 13th December and co-stars James Nesbitt, Ken Stott, Elijah Wood, Lee Pace, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Aiden Turner, Hugo Weaving, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

My guess, either someone in Hollywood misinterpreted the characters appearance or it was intentional.
