The 2014 GODZILLA remake has announced that French composer Alexandre Desplat will be taking on the job of composer. Desplat, who scored everyone’s favourite wizards final outing HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART I AND II, has also gained critical acclaim for his scoring of THE KING’S SPEECH and ARGO, the 2011 and 2013 winners of BAFTA’s Best Film award, respectively. Clearly Desplat picks his jobs carefully and loves mixing it up. We hope that director Gareth Edward’s shot at the scaly city-smasher Godzilla is no exception.
The cast of the remake is led by Bryan Cranston – fortunately confirmed unlike the recent rumour of his casting as Lex Luthor in the upcoming MAN OF STEEL sequel – alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen.
Still no official teaser yet, but expect Godzilla to hit screens on May 16th, 2014.
