SIN CITY stunner Jessica Alba has joined the cast of soon-to-shoot comic action-thriller BARELY LETHAL. The film is being directed by Kyle Newman, best known for the enjoyable FANBOYS.
The plot centres on an 16-year-old international assassin (to be played by TRUE GRIT’s Oscar-winner Hailee Steinfeld) forced back into action by her employer Samuel L. Jackson after yearning for “normal” adolescence, having faked her own death to enroll in a suburban high school.
Alba will take on the lead villain of a mysterious women Victoria Knox. She’ll next be seen on the big-screen in Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE KILLS. BARELY LETHAL is being produced by Brett Ratner, RKO and Hopscotch Pictures and is expected later next year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
