Joshua Jackson won’t be moving far from our small screen, as it was revealed today that he will be joining the highly anticipated drama pilot ‘The Affair’.

The show, which will air on Showtime, tells the story of a young woman named Allison (played by THE LONE RANGER’s Ruth Wilson) as she tries to piece her life back together after a tragedy. Allison is married to a hard-edged cowboy named Cole (Jackson) but her marriage starts to fall apart when she starts an affair with a New Yorker named Noah (played by THE WIRE’s Dominic West). Maura Tierney is also set to star as Noah’s wife Helen.

The show is created by HOUSE OF CARDS and IN TREATMENT writer Sarah Treem, who wrote the pilot with the original creator of IN TREATMENT Hagai Levi. They’ll also serve as executive producers alongside SHAMELESS USA’s Mark Mylod.

Are you excited for Joshua Jackson’s appearance? Or are we all still bitter that FRINGE ended?
