Josh Stewart Completes Directorial Debut With Found-Footage Thriller ‘The Hunted’

The underrated actor Josh Stewart, best known for his role Arkin in Marcus Dunstan’s grisly horror THE COLLECTOR and its sequel THE COLLECTION, has completed work on his directorial debut –  found-footage thriller THE HUNTED. Many of you may remember him as the main sidekick to villain Bane in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES or even his recurring role in the likes of THE WALKING DEAD, CRIMINAL MINDS and NO ORDINARY FAMILY. He’s impressed me with a number of his intense roles and he leads this particular effort and he’s also included in the cast of Wally Pfister’s TRANSCENDENCE.

Stewart will look for potential buyers at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival having co-produced with Brett Forbes and Patrick Rizzotti. Check out the official synopsis!

In an attempt to land their own TV show, Jake (Josh Stewart) and Stevie (Ronnie Gene Blevins) head to the dense, secluded mountains of West Virginia. Equipped with only their bow and cameras, they have three days to kill a monster buck big enough to grab the attention of a TV network. Once they find the massive animal, they look to strike fast. But as the sun sets, they realize they’re not alone. A supernatural force appears to be lurking in the vacant woods… and now they’re the ones being hunted.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
