Batman Returns: Affleck For Multiple Batman Films

For those of you out there that weren’t happy with the announcement that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman, I recommend you look away now. Further to the announcement that Batman will encounter Superman in the MAN OF STEEL sequel, it has been reported that Warner Bros. have secured Affleck for multiple Batman movies.

The studio is immensely happy with the actor/director after the resounding success of last years ARGO. This long-term contract reinforces the rumours that Warner Bros. are trying to replicate the longevity of the Marvel superhero films with their own DC characters. This move also strengthens the possibility of the much toted Justice League movie, with Affleck being a front runner to direct as well as star. Snyder and Affleck have apparently had several meetings over the last few months and are promising ‘an entirely new incarnation of the character.’

Ben Afflecks plate is already pretty hectic but has now become even bigger. His other filming commitments for the next year include David Finchers GONE GIRL, as well as ARGO follow-up LIVE BY NIGHT.

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. It is scheduled for release summer 2015.
