A fun cars and crime caper has now spiraled into a massive blockbuster franchise, and that calls for massive stars. Ever since Dwayne Johnson joined the cast, THE FAST & THE FURIOUS franchise has gone for bigger and better, and it looks as though we’ll be seeing some nifty martial arts thanks to the casting of Tony Jaa. This will be the first U.S. Production and English language film for the Thai martial artist who shot to fame with Ong-Bak. Jaa was willing to give his opinion on starring in the film via e-mail:
I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise. The films are fast paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production.
After being asked who he would fight and more importantly, who would win, Jaa gave a sweet and non-committed answer:
Having a chance to work with Vin Diesel and The Rock already makes me a winner.
Director James Wan takes over the franchise after the success of his horror output over the years.
FAST & FURIOUS 7 will be released on 11th July 2014 in the US and the 25th July in the UK. It stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ronda Rousey, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, and Tony Jaa.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
