Lionsgate Films has revealed that GAME OF THRONES beauty Natalie Dormer has been cast as the film director Cressida in the final novel of the survival franchise which will be split over two films. The character has a major part to play in the last of Suzanne Collins’ books as her Capitol filmmaker becomes embroiled in the District uprising alongside her assistant Messalla and cameramen, Castor and Pollux.
Francis Lawrence, director of the upcoming THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, will complete the series with THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 and 2. Dormer is expected to join fellow franchise newcomer Julianne Moore, who’s currently in negotiations for the role of Alma Coin in the duo of blockbusters set for November 2014 and November 2015 respectively.
Again, the core cast of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, and Stanley Tucci, will all return.
Dormer will next be seen in Ron Howard’s RUSH and Ridley Scott’s thriller THE COUNSELOR.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
