A Host Of Impressive New Stills Hit From ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Next up for Marvel Studios is the return of their intergalactic, hammer-swinging warrior THOR as Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the heroic Asgardian demigod. Despite the plagued production and trouble behind-the-scenes, Alan Taylor’s epic superhero sequel has looked impressive in both trailers and the footage we witnessed at Comic Con. A batch of brand new stills have surfaced, giving us the best look yet at the expanded world of Asgard and more specifically, the infamous new threat of The Dark Elves and their evil leader Malekith.

Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
