First Poster For Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Zero Theorem’

Terry Gilliam is a director that most either love or hate. Personally, I can appreciate the eccentric majesty in films like TIME BANDITS and BRAZIL, but I’ve just never connected with those pictures. However, I’m a huge fan of TWELVE MONKEYS and of course his brilliant work in Python. After witnessing the opening ten minutes of his latest adventure, THE ZERO THEORM over at San Diego Comic Con, it was obvious the film wasn’t for me and again he’s stepped back into BRAZIL territory… or rather Gilliam doing Gilliam.

Still, the film has a superb cast led by two-time Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz as a computer hacker searching for the meaning of life and today we bring you the first poster for the film co-starring Matt Damon, Ben Whishaw, Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, and Lucas Hedges. No details as yet on general release dates.

Qohen Leth is an eccentric and reclusive computer genius who lives in an Orwellian corporate world and suffers from existential angst. Under the instruction of a shadowy figure known only as “Management”, Qohen works to solve the “Zero Theorem” – a mathematical formula which will finally determine whether life has any meaning. Qohen’s work in the burnt-out chapel that serves as his home is interrupted by visits from Bainsley, a seductive woman, and Bob, the teenage son of Management.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
