Ashley Greene Joins ‘Staten Island Summer’

Ashley Greene

STATEN ISLAND SUMMER, the comedy swarming with Saturday Night Live creatives, has found it’s first cast member today in THE TWILIGHT SAGA actress Ashley Greene.  Written by Saturday Night Live head writer Colin Jost, directed by SNL director/producer Rhys Thomas and produced by NBC bigwig producer Lorne Michaels the film certainly has the power behind the scenes.  The story follows a summer in which two friends just out of high school come to terms with what’s next in their lives and paths they are about to take.  No casting news on the two friends has been announced but Greene will play the daughter of a mobster who presumably becomes friends with the two.

Greene has been pretty quiet on our screens recently but coming up for the actress are several projects.  Firstly there’s historical music drama CBGB which looks at the New York City punk-rock scene and specifically the revered night club of the film’s title.  That’s due on US screens in October and also due out this year is horror flick RANDOM.  Last month Greene also signed on to Zach Braff’s kickstarter project WISH I WAS HERE alongside Kate Hudson, Jim Parsons and Josh Gad.

STATEN ISLAND SUMMER is due to start production later this month in New York.
