‘Frank And Cindy’ Gather More Castmates

FRANK AND CINDY, the new project from young filmmaker G.J. Echternkamp, has added Oliver Platt, Jane Levy, Marc Maron and Johnny Simmons to its’ cast as production nears its’ beginning. The film will document the story of Frank Garcia and his wife Cindy Brown. Garcia was the bassist of American dance-rock band OXO who had one Top 40 hit in 1983 with ‘Whirly Girl’ and director G.J. Echternkamp is Cindy Brown’s son who also directed the 2007 documentary of the same name.

Oliver Platt, nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his supporting role in Huff will play Frank Garcia with Rene Russo (THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR) already confirmed to play Cindy. Johnny Simmons will play the director himself with Jane Levy and Marc Maron’s characters yet to be revealed. Simmons has held small roles in indie pics SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD and THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER with Maron best known for his stand-up comedy and cameo roles in ALMOST FAMOUS and SLEEPWALK WITH ME.  Levy is currently the lead on ABC’s Suburgatory, starred in this year’s EVIL DEAD remake, and has just signed on to Chris McCoy’s directorial debut GOOD KIDS.

FRANK AND CINDY will begin production shortly and is due to be released in 2014
